FAQ

Why is dancing important?
Dancing is an incredible form of expression and a fun way to improve both physical and mental well-being. It enhances coordination, flexibility, strength, and balance while boosting self-confidence and creativity. Dance also fosters a sense of community and belonging, allowing individuals to connect with others through a shared passion.

Why are ballet classes important for passionate dancers?
Ballet is the foundation for many styles of dance, helping dancers develop technical skills, discipline, and a strong understanding of movement. It teaches proper posture, balance, and control, and provides a deep sense of artistry that can elevate any dancer's performance.

What does my child wear to dancing?
We have a range of uniform options available for purchase through our website or if you would prefer to come into our Loftus studio and try on some of our range you can purchase there.  For ballet we require our students to be in a leotard, the leotard we wear at The Avenue is the Bloch Overture Oriana Princess Seam Leotard in the colour Capri ( for grades 1-4, grades 5+ wear black).  Don't forget dance shoes appropriate for the class, contact us for more specific information.

Can I watch my child’s dance class?
We understand that you may want to watch your child’s progress! However, to maintain focus and minimise distractions, we generally ask that parents refrain from attending regular classes. For our Preschool classes please ask your teacher or check our calendar for opportunities to see your child perform/observe.

How do I find out information about upcoming events and concerts?
We keep our community updated with the latest event details through emails, our website, social media and our BAND closed groups. Feel free to message/call the office on 0468834966 if you have any further questions that we can assist you with. Be sure to follow us on Instagram for real-time updates!

What is the difference between recreational classes and performance team classes?
Recreational classes focus on developing technique, creativity, and having fun in a non-competitive environment. Performance team classes, on the other hand, are for dancers who are committed to rehearsing for performances and competitions and would like more opportunities to perform on stage. Performance teams require a higher level of dedication and involve additional practices and performance opportunities.
